The Process – Forge

Once the final design and budget are approved, the project moves from the drawing board to the forge. The design is drawn full size onto wooden boards and this becomes our working template.
Any necessary sampling and tooling are crafted in our well equipped workshops,
ensuring the skilled forging of the desired textures and shapes and the project is ready to start.
Our skilled smiths love to forge! The forged elements are created amid an exciting atmosphere of fire, heat and the rhythmic thud, thud of the power hammers all brought together by the skill the joy and the craftsmanship of the artist blacksmiths.
On completion, all our exterior forged and fabricated work is galvanised with a protective layer of zinc to prevent corrosion. Where required the work is then spray painted to give a durable finish.
At this stage, clients are very welcome to visit the forge and observe the exciting process of the metal being formed and shaped by fire and hammer as the work progresses.
